What I read in june 2014

I managed to catch up on my reading a little bit in June. I have a lot of reviews to write, but I am so tired from working all day in front of the computer and in the evenings I am just so drained. I am working on an exciting new personal project too and I hope that I'll be able to tell you more about it soon. The books that I read in June were:

1.#GIRLBOSS by Sofia Amoruso three stars
Page number: 232
Publication date: May 2014
Translated in Bulgarian: no
I really wanted to read this book, but I ended up disappointed with it. I wrote a review about it, you can read it here. If you want to read a book about an entrepreneur I would recommend you to read Steve Jobs'biography (more here) or the book about Twitter (here).

2. We were liars by E.Lockhart five stars
Page number: 240
Publication date: May 2014
Translated in Bulgarian: no
This book is one of the most raved about books at the moment. Most of the people advice you to start reading it without knowing anything about it. I really liked the writting style. I won't tell you a lot about the storyline. I'll only share with you that it is about a very wealthy family who spend every summer on their own private island. This is another story where the main character suffers from amnesia. Some people have figured out the ending of the book on their own, but for me this is a good book that deserves to be read.

3. First thing first by Stephen Covey four stars
Page number: 384
Publication date: January 1996
Translated in Bulgarian: no, at least I can't find it
A while back I read The 7 habits of highly effective people by Steven Covey (you can read my review here). Since then I am trying to live by the priciples in this book. I have to tell you that it is really hard. I am quite messy in life and organizing is not one of my strong sides so I have some problems with the third habit "Put the first thing first". That's why I decided to read this book. I would say that if you have read The 7 habits of highly effective people you won't find much more in First thing first.

4. Pushing the limits by Katie McGarry four stars
Page number: 416
Publication date: April 2013
Translated in Bulgarian: no
Pushing the limits is the first book of the Katie McGarry's companion novels. Every book tells a different love story, but they intertwine. You don't have to read the books in the order they were published though. The main characters in Pushing the limits are Noah and Echo. They are seniors in high school, but they have a lot of problems. Echo's brother has died in Iraq, her father has dumped her mother and has married the babysitter, who is now expecting a baby. Echo has terrible scars on her arms because of an accident she can not remember. The only thing she knows is that her mother, who is not mentally well, is somehow involved.
Noah's parents have died in a fire, he lives with his foster parents and he is separated from his two little brothers. All he wants is to live with them again. Echo has to visit the school terapist because of her amnesia, Noah has to do the same because of his troubles in school. They decide to work together and steal their files from the lady that is trying to help them. Echo wants to know what has really happened to her and Noah want to know where do his brothers' foster parents live. I quite liked this book and I'll read the other books by Katie McGarry too.

5. Sweet evil by Wendy Higgins four stars
Page number: 464
Publication date: May 2012
Translated in Bulgarian: no
6. Sweet peril by Wendy Higgins fivestars
Page number: 384
Publication date: April 2013
Translated in Bulgarian: no
I really liked Sweet evil and Sweet peril by Wendy Higgins. At the moment I am reading the third and final book in the trilogy Sweet reckoning. I'll be writting a review soon, I highly recommend this series.
