Diorskin Nude Shimmer instant illuminating powder is a part of the Dior Summer 2014 makeup collection. It is available in two shades 001 Pink and 002 Amber. I bought the pink one. The question that a lot of people were asking was is this product a replacement for the famous Dior highlighters Amber Diamond and Rose Diamond, which are sadly discontinued in Europe. I haven't used the highlighters, but according to Temptalia the products are not identical.
Diorskin Nude Shimmer instant illuminating powder in 001 Pink is supposed to add freshness and light to your face. The product is something between a highlighter and a blush. It should be applied on the rounded areas of the face - upper cheekbones, forehead, bridge of the nose, chin. The formulation is supposed to adapt to all skin tones and all types of light. The product is enriched with a sweet orange extract and your skin becomes more vibrant with every application.
I am among these women who hate having glitter on their faces and I've been looking for a similar product for a while. Diorskin Nude Shimmer instant illuminating powder is similar to the MAC Mineralize skinfinishes, but without all the glitter in them.
Diorskin Nude Shimmer instant illuminating powder comes in a luxurious metal compact with a mirror and a mini kabuki brush. You get 10 g. of product. The shimmer in this powder is very finely milled and it looks very natural on the face. I would say that it is quite difficult to use the four colors separately. I have a very fair skin so I can definitely get away with wearing this product as a blush. I quite like how it looks in combination with Benefit Rockateur blush (read here) and I think I'll be wearing this combo a lot this summer. The mini kabuki brush is just adorable.
I definitely like this product a lot. I don't know how it's going to work for women with darker skin tones. If you don't like glitter and you are looking for a similar product, this one definitely deserves attention.
