Maybelline Master Sculpt contouring palette

 14.08.2015

There aren’t many face contouring products in the drugstores. The new Maybelline Master Sculpt received a lot of positive reviews so I decided to try it.

There are two shades 01 - for fair and medium skin tones and 02 - for the darker skin tones. I own 01 Light/Medium. I think that this product can work only for women with very fair skin. If you have even a little bit of a tan go for the darker shade. It’s a plastic packaging but there are a mirror and a brush inside (I don’t use it). You get 9 g. of product, the contouring powder is probably around 6 g.. In comparison with my favourite Illamasqua contouring duo (review here) you get 3 g. highlighter and 3 g. contouring powder. In the packaging it looks like you don’t get a lot of product with the Maybelline palette, but that’s not the case.

Maybelline Master Sculpt contouring paletteMaybelline Master Sculpt is not very pigmented, but it works great for everyday use. I definitely like the contouring powder, the colour is not too orange or too muddy and it looks very natural. The highlighter is not an intense one and you can use it for everyday makeup. My problem with the highlighter is that it contains some small glitter particles. You can’t really notice them during the day, but when the light is artificial you can see glitter on your face.

Maybelline Master Sculpt contouring palette and Illamasqua contouring duoIf you are lusting over Kim Kardashian’s contoured cheek bones or you want a highlighter for strobing this product won’t work for you. Maybelline Master Sculpt is more of an everyday kind of contouring palette, the colours are not very intense.

I picked this up as well. I do like it, and I really did like the highlight shade (but then I picked up 2 Becca highlighters last week so... bye bye cheaper highlighter). I also have the Kevyn Aucoin scultping powder and I think what I ACTUALLY...

I also have the Kevyn Aucoin scultping powder and I think what I ACTUALLY need is somewhere between the Kevyn Aucoin shade and the Maybelline shade.

This would definitely be handy for people new to contouring like me! Nice and faint so that it's hard to overdo it - I need to go and have a look for this! x

I bought this and haven't been incredibly impressed by it, I find that the product fades really quickly, so it is not noticeable. It seems to have got very mixed reviews on blogs.

I haven't seen this in my country yet. I am not really into contouring but I love to highlight :-)

I haven't used any products by Maybelline in quite some time (besides their gorgeous nail colours), though this does look rather chic - the highlighter looks wonderfully natural :)

Ooo a drug store contouring kit- you are so right, they are super hard to find! It looks nice, I quite like the fact that it's not super pigmented. Kimmy K's over countered face can look a bit grubby haha
