Urban Decay Naked Smoky

22.08.2015

I am a huge fan of the Urban Decay Naked palettes. I own the first three and I think that they are worth it. When I first heard about the new Naked Smoky(link) palette I knew that I have to buy it. There is no way I am passing on a Naked palette.

Urban Decay Naked Smoky

After I read Temptalia's review I didn't have big expectations, she wrote that Smoky is not as good as the first three palettes. Most of the other popular bloggers wrote positive reviews. So what do I think about the Naked Smoky? I adore it and I am so happy that I got it!

Probably the reason for the not so postive review is the fact that there are shades in this palette that are not as pigmented as one would expect from Urban Decay. Despite this the eyeshadows are easy to blend and are actually pigmented enough for everyday use, they are just not intensely pigmented.

The first three Naked palettes contain neutral shades and their quality is great. The market is saturated with neutral palettes at the moment. Naked Smoky is actually quite unique. The color selection is just amazing. I rarely wear smoky eye makeup and I almost never wear grey eyeshadows. Since I got this palette I rock the smoky grey eye on an everyday basis.
The makeup looks you can accomplish with Naked Smoky are very interesting and not very typical. I tried the suggested by Urban Decay makeup and I quite liked the results.

Naked Smoky contains four matte shades, six shimmery ones and two glitters. I really like the eyeshadow Armor, it's a very pigmented grey glitter. The only bad thing about it is that there is fallout with this shade mainly while you are applying it. My other favourite is Password - matte grey colour which makes the smoky eye effect by itself. There are enough shades for an everyday makeup in this palette too.

If you own a lot of neutral eyeshadows or some of the other Naked palettes and you are wondering if you need this palette too, you should know that Smoky is quite different from its predecessors. I would describe it as an easy smoky eye for women who usually go for neutrals.
Urban Decay did it again!
