I can't wait to watch the Oscars tonight and I keep my fingers crossed for Leonardo DiCaprio and Rachel McAdams. Today I decided to write about a palette I bought because of the last year's Oscars ceremony - Charlotte Tilbury The Sophisticate.
I am a huge fan of the actress Sienna Miller, I adore her style. Charlotte Tilbury did her makeup for the Oscars 2015. I really liked it, it's neutral and at the same time very elegant. The Sophisticate looks like the least exciting Charlotte Tilbury palette, all the shades are matte and neutral. Now after I own it, I can confirm that it is definitely used for Sienna's makeup, you can get this eye look in minutes with this palette.
It's a Charlotte Tilbury product so the packaging is gorgeous. You don't get a lot of product - 4 eyeshadows 5,2 g. total. The two colours on the left side have a very subtle shimmer, it's not easy to spot, but they are not totally matte. For me the lightest shade was very disappointing - very powdery and not pigmented. This is quite unpleasant because this is the base colour in this palette. The other three shades are amazing - well pigmented, blend like a dream. The other disappointment was the ingredients list - two parabens. I don't like paying a lot for a product with bad ingredients, you are supposed to get quality for your money. I went to Charlotte Tilbury's website and checked the ingredients. Most products are paraben-free, but I advice you to check the ingredients list before buying if this is something you care about.
The colour combination is genius. Charlotte Tilbury knows her makeup!
I wear this palette often, because it's so universal. All Charlotte Tilbury quads look very intriguing. The not so great ingredients list is what bothers be with these palettes.
