I really wanted to try the new Golden rose matte lipstick crayons ever since I first saw them a few months ago in one of the Turkish blogs I follow. They were released here in Bulgaria in December, but for now you can only find them online or get them from the Golden rose counters. I guess soon they will be available in the drugstores too. I ordered my lipstick crayons from the Golden rose website the first week they were available for purchase. The price online is 1,80 euro, the lipsticks are a little bit more expensive if you get them from a counter. To justify the shipping cost I ordered four shades. There are a lot of colours in this range and I wasn't able to find swatches of all of them online. Fortunately I am quite happy with the shades I got.
Golden rose matte lipstick crayons are basically matte pencil lipsticks. The formulation is very creamy and easy to apply. They don't emphasize the imperfections of the lips as many other matte lipsticks do. You need to exfoliate your lips beforehand only with the darker shades, but it's because of the bright colour not because of the formulation. The crayons have a slight scent of vanilla which I personally find pleasant. You get 3,5 g. of product. For comparison with Maybelline Color drama intense lip pencils you get 2,5 g.. The formulation of Golden rose matte lipstick crayons is hydrating and does not dry out your lips. I don't have a problem with feathering. They last on me around 5-6 hours and the colour wears off evenly.
Two of the shades I own 13 and 18 are "my lips, but better" kind of shades. If you have a darker skin tone they may be nudes for you. Number 18 has a brown undertone. 13 is the most popular shade, it is supposed to be a dupe for MAC Kinda sexy. This shade looks great on women with fair skin, it has a coral undertone and I really like it. Number 10 is an everyday shade, it's a mauve colour. I was surprised when I got 03, because it's a very dark vamp shade. I wore it on New Year's Eve and it performed great. It wears off in the inner part of the lips after you've eaten, but it's easy to fix. The lipstick was very easy to apply and I am pretty impressed with it. I don't like to spend a lot of money on shades like 03, because I rarely wear them. It's great that we have an affordable option.
I quite like the Golden rose matte lipstick crayons. The only downside of these I can think of is that you need to sharpen them. I definitely recommend them!
