I bought these three nail polishes back in the summer when they were first released. I really liked the packaging. I rarely write about nail polishes, but I found this L’OREAL range in particular to be pretty inconsistent when it comes to the formulation. I think that my review can be helpful to someone who wants to buy one of these and can’t decide which color to pick.
The interesting thing about L’OREAL Color Riche Le Vernis a L’Huile is that it contains oils. I didn’t know that prior to sitting down and writing this review. Another curious thing is that these nail polishes are scented. I didn’t expect it, you can sense a powdery scent when the nail polish dries. All colors smell exactly the same. The bottles are very pretty and you get 13,5 ml. of product. The brush is wide and I personally like it. Overall, I find these to be an upgrade compared to the brand’s previous nail polishes. The downside is that they are pretty inconsistent in terms of quality. If you buy a color and you love it, there’s no guarantee that the next shade you pick will be good as well. L’OREAL Color Riche Le Vernis a L’Huile in 330 Fuchsia Palace
When I applied this nail polish, I was impressed. It was almost completely opaque in one coat, but I applied two just to be sure. The formulation is thick and your nails are ready in seconds with no visible brush strokes. Sadly, my happiness did not last long. The next day the nail polish started chipping. The longevity is the biggest issue with this product. 330 Fuchsia Palace is a standard hot pink shade you can find from other brands as well.
L’OREAL Color Riche Le Vernis a L’Huile in 334 Violet De Nuit
This color is amazing - a deep violet shade. I don’t have anything like it in my collection. The formulation is almost the same as the the formulation of the pink shade. It applies like a dream, it does not last long. I guess that this is the formulation of the bright shades in the range. The color is gorgeous though.
L’OREAL Color Riche Le Vernis a L’Huile in 112 Blanc De Lune
This color has a completely different formulation. 112 Blanc De Lune is the white in the range. I haven’t edited the photo so you can see the problems with this one. This is a blog, not a magazine. You can see the brush strokes, these are three coats. There are some bubbles as well. It lasts around four days on my nails, not bad at all. The white shade is always difficult.
My guess is that the bright and dark shades are easy to apply, but do not last long and the opposite is true for the light colors. I can’t tell for sure. These are definitely better than L’OREAL’s previous nail polishes. The packaging is beautiful and these can be a nice gift. My advice is to read some reviews before buying.
