The Christmas makeup collection that impressed me the most this year was the collaboration between NARS and the photographer Steven Klein. To be honest I wanted everything from it, but I had to restrain myself and got just one product. I chose the single eyeshadow in the shade Stud. The packaging of this one is simple and elegant, but many of the other products come in the most extravagant packaging I’ve ever seen with the weirdest photos on it - courtesy of Steven Klein of course. This collection is definitely not your typical Christmas all reds and golds collection, it’s much more artistic and it’s quite interesting.
Stud is a glittery eyeshadow, but the shimmers are really small. You can find eyeshadows like this one only from the high end makeup brands. I’m happy with my choice because I got a great quality product for my money. The colour is difficult to describe, because it’s just so glittery and looks different depending on the lighting. It’s a silvery grey shade with brown and khaki undertones. It looks amazing on the lid and you can wear it both during the day and for a night out. The shimmers are really small and the shade is very wearable.
You get 2,2 g. of product. The eyeshadow is very pigmented and the formulation feels a little bit wet when you touch it. You get an intense colour and you don’t even need more eyeshadows for a complete makeup look. When I apply it without a base I notice small particles under my eyes after a few hours, but they are really small and not easy to spot if you are not specifically looking for them. If I apply a primer I don’t have any problems with fallout.
I am quite impressed with the NARS glittery eyeshadows. I think that Stud is going to be my go-to eyeshadow this winter. I definitely recommend it!
