I am a huge fan of the Chanel lip products and I always get very excited when there is a new lipstick launch. Rouge Coco Stylo is a all in one product, it combines the colour of a lipstick, the shine of a lipgloss with the care of a lip balm. I bought the shade 206 Histoire.
When I first opened the lipstick I was quite confused by the packaging. It’s similar to the packaging of a liquid eyeliner, when you twist it you get only a small amount of product and you can’t twist it back. After I applied the lipstick I got the idea behind it. The formulation is very creamy, almost like a liquid. The packaging holds the form of the lipstick. Rouge Coco Stylo melts easily so you need to be careful with leaving it on the beach this summer. The formulation is well pigmented, not as with a matte lipstick, but you definitely get a good colour payoff. The lipstick is quite glossy and it feels really nice on the lips. It smells of roses, but it’s not overwhelming. It’s the exact same scent as in the Rouge Coco Shine lipsticks. Thanks to the packaging you can apply the product precisely. My only problem with the formulation is that it transfers - on glasses and on your teeth, you can smear it easily, don’t even think about kissing someone while wearing it. I own one of the bright shades 206 Histoire - a rosy red. If you buy a lighter colour the transferring won’t be as noticeable and annoying. Surprisingly it lasts on the lips pretty well, at the end of the day you are left with a stain.
You get 2 g. of product in the packaging and considering the formula it will be all gone in no time.
If you are a fan of the brand you’ll like Rouge Coco Stylo because the innovative formula and the details of the packaging are “very Chanel”. I would recommend getting a lighter shade. It’s quite a lovely product for summer with the lip care it provides. It’s not a great value for money because of the amount of product you are getting.
