I am quite picky when it comes to highlighters, I just hate having shimmer on my face. The Becca ones are pretty popular and I’ve been wanting to try them for a while. Opal looked like the perfect everyday highlighter, but the powder version is always sold out. When I found out that they’ve released a cream version and it’s in stock I finally purchased it.
The downside of the cream highlighters is that you can’t use them over powder. Another problem is that after you start using them they never look good in the packaging again - there’s always some brush hairs inside, powder from other products. I really wanted to photograph mine before using it, but of course I had to stick my finger in it while unpacking it. It will never look picture perfect again.
So about Becca Opal - it’s the most beautiful highlighter I’ve ever used. It’s a golden beige shade and it looks more natural on women with yellow skin undertones. There’s absolutely no shimmer in it and I’m just in love with it. This product it’s definitely worth the hype!
The packaging is small and compact, but at the same time quite sturdy. You can carry it in your purse without a care in the world. You get 5,5 g..
This product is very easy to use and it’s hard to go overboard with it, it does not require blending. You can simply use your fingers to apply it. I use Zoeva 142 Concealer buffer brush, but any brush for creamy products can do the trick. Opal is the perfect everyday highlighter and it looks very natural. If you want an intense highlighter just apply more of it.
Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Poured is a great option for people without much experience with highlighters because it’s just so easy to use. You’ll also like it if you hate shimmer on your face or you are just after a pretty everyday highlighter. If you want a more intense effect don’t worry - it allows layering. I read online that the powder version of this highlighter is more illuminating and requires more blending, but I don’t own it so I can’t really compare them.
