This post took me forever to write. I was so busy at work and when I finally had some time to edit photos in the evenings, I was just exhausted.
One of my New Year’s resolutions was not to buy new palettes this year. I managed to keep my promise till the middle of January when Too Faced released their Sweet Peach collection. I haven’t bought anything from the brand in probably more than three years, so I wanted to get some products. My excuse was the gloomy and cold weather, and the fact that the peachy shades remind me of summer. I bought the famous Sweet Peach eyeshadow palette, the face palette Sweet Peach Glow and one of the oil glosses in the shade Tickle me Peach. I ordered online, the collection is supposed to be available in Sephora. The problem was that the quantities were limited and I couldn’t deal with it in the freezing weather. All products are joining the permanent Too Faced line, so don’t panic. While I was waiting for my order to arrive, I read a tweet by Laura from buynowbloglater (lollipop26) about the collection, She said that the packaging is ugly and that the collection is stinky. These words totally describe my first impression of the products. The whole Sweet Peach collection smells of peaches. I opened a box with three products inside it and the scent was really strong. It’s a candy peach scent, but it’s a little bit chemical. If you get only one product and you don’t have an issue with scents like me, you’ll probably like the smell. When it comes to the packaging - the colors are pretty, it’s sturdy, but it looks kind of cheap. For example, the cute peach cartoon on the cap of the gloss is a sticker. Fortunately, my first impression was wrong and I was blown away by the quality of the products. I love all three of them. I like the eyeshadow palette the most, but this post is about the other two products.
Too Faced Sweet Peach Glow palette
This palette is supposed to be the star product of the collection. The packaging is cute. The print on the product is adorable, but it’s gone when you start using it. It smells nice of peaches and it contains a highlighter, a blush and a bronzer. This product works only on fair skin tones.
The highlighter is gorgeous, it has a peachy undertone. There is no chunky glitter in it and it looks very fresh on. You get 3 g. of product.
The blush is a coral shade with some shimmer, it’s a darker version of Benefit Coralista. No chunky glitter here as well. This blush is not very pigmented and the color is pretty fair. If you have a darker skin tone, it may not work for you. The blush is 5,5 g., and I don’t get why it is bigger that the bronzer (3 g.). I have similar colors in my collection. The other blush from the Sweet Peach collection, the one with the cool name Papa don’t Peach, is prettier.
The bronzing powder looks very fair in the packaging, it swatches darker. It has a strong peachy undertone and on my very fair skin, it looks orange. It works great with the other two products and the combination is quite interesting, but I won’t use it by itself. The color is light and only fair skin tones can use it.
The palette is nice, the highlighter is the best thing about it. But if you have similar shades already, you can skip it.
Too Faced Sweet Peach Creamy Peach oil gloss in the shade Tickle me peach
As a gloss lover, I couldn’t resist the oil gloss from the Sweet Peach collection. I got the darkest color Tickle me peach - reddish coral shade. These lip glosses tick all my boxes - they are non-sticky, have medium coverage, feel great on the lips. They also don’t contain mineral oil.
The lip glosses smell of Skittles, the scent and taste are sweet and sour at the same time. They last a good 5 hours on my lips. The formulation is quite thick, they don’t feather and do not transfer easily. You get 4 ml. of product. The packaging does not impress me, I expected more for the price, but it’s the product that’s important after all. If you are a gloss girl, you need to check these out. There are oils in the formula, so it’s nourishing for the lips as well.
I like both products and I recommend them. I need to try more Too faced makeup.
