I bought the Bare minerals palette the Magic act as a Christmas present for my Mom. This is my first Bare minerals product and I am so pleased with it. I've also ordered Urban Decay Vice 3 palette, but it is not here yet. I'm kind of worried that the package has been lost. Although I am curious about Vice 3 for now the Magic act palette is my winner in the category "the best palette for Christmas 2014".
The packaging is really compact especially when you take into consideration how many products it contains. It's made of cartoon, but I like it. You get 6 neutral eyeshadows, 3 blushes and a highlighter. The eyeshadows are around 2 g. each, the colors are very pigmented and you get a great mix of everyday makeup shades. Two of the colors Fortune and Foreshadow are matte shades, Celebrate, Shazram and A-HA have a pearly finish, Pumped is the only eyeshadow with some shimmer in it. It is difficult to go overboard with these eyeshadows and they can be great for someone who doesn't have a lot of experience with makeup. The shades are easy to blend and the eyeshadows are not vey shimmery.
I am very impressed by the blush The natural high - a rose gold shade. I didn't expect to find such a product in a Christmas palette. You can buy The natural high as an individual blush as well and it is just a gorgeous blush that a lot of you would like. The indecent proposal is another pretty color, it's a purply mauve shade and it's perfect for the wintertime. The close call is a light bronzer, it works great for some contouring of the face. The only slightly disappointing product in this palette is the highlighter The premiere which is just too dark for my skin tone and it is not very pigmented.
The Magic act can be a great gift for an older woman, a very young girl or someone who can't afford to wear a lot of makeup at work. There aren't many dramatic or shimmery products in this palette. The shades are great for everyday makeup and you can definitely use it a lot. I highly recommend this palette!
